EisnerAmper Ireland Summer Blog Challenge 2015
On 27 January 2016, members of EisnerAmper Ireland’s team attended the prize giving lunch for the “EisnerAmper Ireland Summer Blog Challenge 2015” organised by Trinity College Dublin (“TCD”). This competition focused on blogs authored by TCD students who took part in summer internships in various industries. The calibre of the blogs was superb and prizes were awarded to four students;
- Alexandra Trant – Philosophy, Political Science, Economics and Sociology – Blog title: Taking Chances: My Summer Job 2015;
- Annabel Pidgeon – Philosophy, Political Science, Economics and Sociology – Blog title: Loans That Change Lives;
- Philip Callan – Business, Economics and Social Studies – Blog title: Brewing up a Storm; and
- Eniola Naheemat Oladiti – General Nursing – Blog title: As one person I cannot change the world, but I can change the world of one person
The event was very well attended by members of the TCD careers advisory service, the winning students and members of EisnerAmper Ireland’s team. It was a great opportunity for EisnerAmper Ireland to share news of our latest recruitment drive and to hear what students are seeing in the market. These students have all had wonderful experiences and will no doubt go on to achieve great things.

EisnerAmper Ireland continues successful involvement with the Junior Achievement Ireland Programme
Throughout 2015, members of EisnerAmper Ireland volunteered with the Junior Achievement Ireland (JAI) Programme. JAI is part of a worldwide organisation reaching out to 9.3 million young people each year, encouraging young people to remain in education while helping them to develop important skills needed to succeed in a changing world. The programme operates across primary and secondary school level education and fosters a spirit of enterprise within participating schools.
Three members of EisnerAmper Ireland participated in the Autumn term programme which involved six in-class lessons over three months. Niamh Hickey (pictured above) completed the programme at St. Tiernan’s Community School, Ballally. Topics covered during her lessons included success skills, building on teamwork skills and interpersonal communication through group discussions, and how these transferable skills can be applied in the working world.
EisnerAmper Ireland looks forward to participating in the Junior Achievement Ireland Programme in 2016, with volunteers from EisnerAmper Ireland participating in several schools across Dublin.

CASSD Carnival Ball 2015
Ten members of MKO (now EisnerAmper Ireland) attended the CASSD Carnival Ball on 7 March 2015. The ball was hosted in the main Ballroom of the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel on Burlington road. Over 700 attendees were greeted with
a champagne reception followed by a fabulous three course meal. The evening entertainment included carnival style dancers and a magician who
did not fail to amaze. A portion of the ticket price for each member was donated to the National Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation.Life at EisnerAmper Ireland →
MKO (now EisnerAmper Ireland) leads trade mission to India – February 2015
Frank Keane and Cormac Doyle, Partners at MKO (now EisnerAmper Ireland), travelled to India on a trade mission from the 8thuntil the 13th February. The purpose of the trade mission was to meet existing clients, to attend major conferences (such as Nasscom, Bio Bangalore and Plast India) and to run trade investment workshops. Frank and Cormac were accompanied by Robert MacGiolla Phadraig (Sigmar Recruitment), Derek Collins (Bank of Ireland) and Brian Harrison (HiTech Health Ltd).
Frank and Cormac, together with the other delegates, organised events in Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Pune and Mumbai. These events were to assist in creating awareness of what Ireland offers Indian businesses and to provide information on executing “Europe” plans, in conjunction with IDA Ireland. As part of MKO’s (now EisnerAmper Ireland’s)continued affiliation with EisnerAmper LLP, Vicky Shah, manager of Eisner Amper India, also attended the event in Mumbai. The event in Pune included a formal briefing to c. 80 members of the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce (http://www.mcciapune.com/).

MKO (now EisnerAmper Ireland) Christmas Party 2014
MKO (now EisnerAmper Ireland) staff opened the Christmas season’s celebrations with the Firm Christmas Party on the 19thDecember 2014. The evening kicked off with pre-dinner drinks and refreshments in Kiely’s in Donnybrook, followed by dinner in The Greenery Restaurant, Donnybrook. The agenda for the night included some brilliant singing performance from the 2014 new joiners, who demonstrated their musical talents with a vast repertoire of Christmas Carrols. Later that night, everyone was presented with a Kris Kindle gift that had to be opened publicly. US Secondment Programme 2015
Six members of MKO’s (now EisnerAmper Ireland’s) Financial Services team have been selected to travel to the United States in January 2015 to partake in a 12 week Funds Audit Secondment Programme with EisnerAmper LLP (“EisnerAmper”). EisnerAmper is a leading full-service advisory and accounting firm, and is among the largest in the United States, with nearly 1,200 employees, including 180 partners. Recognised internationally as one of the premier firms providing advisory, audit, and tax services to financial services entities and portfolio companies, EisnerAmper serves more than 1,000 hedge funds, private equity funds and other fund entities.
Assistant Managers Karl Purcell and Roisin Cahill will travel to EisnerAmper’s office in San Francisco, while Andrew Duignan, Michael O’Malley, Louise Reynolds and Josie Egan will be based in EisnerAmper’s New York City office. EisnerAmper team members at both locations will be joined by Secondees from firms located in Europe, South Africa and New Zealand.
The Secondment Programme will begin with a week of in-house Hedge Fund Audit Training provided by EisnerAmper’s Learning & Development Team. Upon completion of training, MKO (now EisnerAmper Ireland)secondees will join EisnerAmper’s Hedge Fund Audit Teams to manage and work on a range of audits over the course of their secondment.

Ireland France Business Awards 2014
Roisin Cahill, Assistant Manager, and Orla Brennan, Supervisor, both members of MKO’s (now EisnerAmper Ireland’s) International Business team, attended the Ireland France Business Awards 2014 and Gala Dinner on Thursday, 27 November at The Royal Hospital, Kilmainham. The annual event is organised by the France Ireland Chamber of Commerce and NetworkIrelande.
Guests were joined on the night by An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny TD (pictured below with Roisin Cahill), H.E. Jean-Pierre Thébault (Ambassador of France to Ireland), H.E. Geraldine Byrne Nason (Ambassador of Ireland to France) and Matthias Fekl, the French Minister of State for Foreign Trade.

CPA Final Exams Success
Congratulations to David Carroll, a member of MKO’s (now EisnerAmper Ireland’s) Financial Services department, who recently passed his final set of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exams with distinction. David achieved 1stplace in Advanced Taxation and will be conferred by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPA) of Ireland on 6 December 2014. David’s final exam subjects included:

- Advanced Audit & Assurance
Run in the Dark 2014
On the 12th of November 2014 Emanuela Zamboni and Patrick Thornton participated in the Dublin Run in the Dark 5k race. Over 3,000 runners participated in the event. Emanuela and Patrick both had stellar performances finishing 29th and 7th in their respective divisions!

MKO (now EisnerAmper Ireland) attends the Web Summit
Cormac Doyle, Partner and Roisin Cahill, Assistant Manager, soaked up the atmosphere at the Web Summit 2014 in Dublin. The Web Summit, which is Europe’s largest technology conference, attracted over 20,000 attendees (not including the multi-coloured woolly guests of honour), and a number of MKO’s (now EisnerAmper Ireland’s) clients were involved as both speakers and attendees.Life at EisnerAmper Ireland →
Dublin Marathon 2014
Congratulations to Cormac Doyle and Emanuela Zamboni who ran the Dublin Marathon on the 27thOctober, a second marathon in 7 months for Cormac, and a third in 12 months for Emanuela! Both Emanuela and Cormac managed to finish under 5 hours, despite the challenging weather conditions, injuries picked up during training, lack of training, and some trials and tribulations along the way on 26.2 miles course!Life at EisnerAmper Ireland →
Junior Achievement Ireland (JAI) Programme
Members of MKO (now EisnerAmper Ireland) have been participating in the JAI Programme throughout 2014. Several members of staff completed the Easter and Autumn term programmes, with more members of staff scheduled to participate during the coming months. Sarabeth McGuire completed the Easter term programme in the Guardian Angels National School in Blackrock, which involved teaching 30 students as part of ‘Our Families Programme’ over a period of 6 weeks. ‘Our Families Programme’ discusses the role of families in the local economy. The programme involved visiting the school and teaching a 5 week lesson plan. Following the completion of the programme, each member of the class received a participation certificate and a party was organised for the students by MKO (now EisnerAmper Ireland).
