Diarmaid O'Keeffe

Diarmaid is a Partner and Head of Audit & Advisory.  Diarmaid provides audit and assurance services to the Firm’s domestic and international Financial Services clients. Diarmaid leads the provision of the Firm’s services to Credit Unions.

Diarmaid has served on the Credit Union Advisory Committee (CUAC) since 2018 working with the Minister for Finance and the Minister of State at the Department of Finance with special responsibility for Financial Services, Credit Unions and Insurance.  The CUAC was established to advise the Minister regarding the improvement of the management of credit unions; the protection of the interests of members and creditors of credit unions; and other matters relating to credit unions upon which the Minister and the Central Bank of Ireland may from time to time seek the advice of the Committee.

Diarmaid has an in-depth knowledge of credit union operations, works with large credit unions and is responsible for the management of credit union audits and advisory engagements within the Firm.  .

Diarmaid is a former member of Chartered Accountants Ireland’s Audit & Assurance Committee (“AAC”).  The AAC is responsible for providing guidance to members on auditing and assurance matters including those relating to the financial services sector.

Diarmaid is also a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Irish Debt Securities Association’s (“IDSA”) Audit Committee.  The IDSA is an industry organisation formed to promote and develop Ireland as a location for activities to support the global structured finance, debt securities and specialist securities industries.

Education, previous work experience  

Diarmaid joined EisnerAmper Ireland from Deloitte where he was Director of Audit & Advisory in the firm’s Financial Services department.  Diarmaid is a Law & Accounting graduate of the University of Limerick and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
