Week 13 – Friends Farewell
Ruairi Feehan
As busy season came to an end recently, the audit team were assigned a number of new team members from the New York office. In addition, the team members from Mumbai flew home as their secondment term ended which meant the addition of new team members was very welcomed. We had a team meeting last week and were introduced to our new colleagues. We are currently working through our assignments to ensure the job is completed to the required standard.
Prior to our fellow secondee’s departure we went for a meal to toast our friendship and enjoy some of their native food, which was excellent! I will miss Chintal, Manisha, Ritika, and Santhosh among others as they brought a lot of joy to the secondment. I wish them all future success in the Mumbai office and beyond.

As the Mumbai staff have left and the EisnerAmper busy season is over, a number of new staff members have been assigned to the audit who we met last Friday. We are looking forward to working with the new team.
On Friday night, we met up with Cormac and Zoe from the Dublin office, who were in New York to meet with EisnerAmper LLP tax colleagues and clients. We had a great evening catching up and managed to grab a group photo at 230th and 5th with the Empire State building in the background.

Myself and Joseph are back in the New York Offices tidying up workpapers while we wait for the remaining information to be provided by the client. We have arranged to be back at the client headquarters in Westwood Massachusetts starting the week of 13 May. We are hoping that we will be able to complete the remaining 2017 testing within two weeks. We will shortly be starting the 2018 audit once the 2017 audit is close to being finalised.
Last weekend a colleague of ours from EAI visited us. We enjoyed another sunny Saturday in Central Park playing football. We made our way out to Queens on Sunday to enjoy brunch at the legendary Sugar Freak. In the evening we treated ourselves to Labretto’s stone baked pizzas before settling in for the night.

Shaun and I have been spending more time in the New York and New Jersey offices over the last couple of weeks as we are awaiting information from the client before we return to their offices to complete the remainder of our fieldwork. This has given us a chance to spend more time with the managers on the job to fine tune our audit workpapers and ensure the audit is progressing as smoothly as possible.
On Saturday, we went to the Yankees Stadium to see the New York Yankees play the Kansas City Royals after being kindly provided with tickets by Charly Weinstein, CEO of EisnerAmper LLP. We got to see plenty of home runs as the Yankees won 9-2 and we even managed to get ourselves on the Jumbotron.

Our team is working diligently and we are making our way through the audit step by step.
Easter weekend has been one of the most enjoyable I’ve experienced since my arrival in NYC 11 weeks ago. One of our former colleague’s from EisnerAmper Ireland, Aoife O’ Leary, her husband, and a friend of ours, visited NYC for the weekend. We enjoyed a brunch on Easter Sunday which gave us the opportunity to catch up. The weather was beautiful over the weekend and along with my colleagues Aidan, Joey, and a friend, we made it onto the big screen at Yankee Stadium (which you can see in Joey’s blog), all in all, it was the perfect weekend!
