Context

The Fifth Anti-Money Laundering Directive (AMLD5) has now been transposed into Irish law and although less detailed than AMLD4 it signals the increased focus of regulators in this area and the importance for firms in ensuring they meet their regulatory requirements.

The Central Bank of Ireland has published an AML/CFT supervisory engagement model for individual firms, dependent on their ML/TF risk rating, and it is actively enforcing compliance with 12 firms recently reaching Settlement Agreements in respect of breaches of the CJA 2010.

The Central Bank of Ireland expects directors to be trained on their specific duties in relation to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and we deliver bespoke Anti-Money Laundering (AML) training to help Boards (and individual members of Boards) fulfil their duties and achieve compliance with the requirements of AML.
