Risk & Regulatory Team

Our dedicated Risk & Regulatory team, led by Tom Brennan, Partner, advises financial services providers on risk, regulatory and compliance-related matters.

We provide authorisation application support to companies and investors, outsourcing solutions to operationalise compliance and risk function requirements, Pre-Approval Controlled Function support services, support clients throughout the regulatory engagement lifecycle and specialise in the design and implementation of risk and compliance frameworks.

As a key member of the Risk & Regulatory team you will support the Firm’s Partners in winning business, leading and managing engagements, in addition to developing and mentoring the Risk & Regulatory team.

What you will be doing

You can expect to be a key member of our Risk & Regulatory team providing the following services:

  • Managing client engagements covering client proposals, engagement letters, client billing and managing client relationships;
  • Managing client projects including gap analysis exercises against regulatory requirements, compliance monitoring, governance reviews and enquiries from clients on regulatory matters;
  • Supporting Pre-Approval Controlled function role holders in the fulfilment of their role;
  • Supporting clients with applications for Central Bank of Ireland authorisations;
  • Supporting directors, officers and risk management teams across the full range of regulated financial services sectors, including banking, insurance and investment management;
  • Working with companies to implement Risk Mitigation Programme actions;
  • Maintaining and developing existing client relationships, and contributing to the development of new business opportunities;
  • Coaching and mentoring junior members of the team to ensure quality, thoroughness and completion of assignment tasks;
  • Servicing a portfolio of key clients and developing service offerings to meet demand;
  • Managing key client account relationships to provide strong supervision and oversight; and
  • Managing and leading a team of graduates, seniors and management in the provision of all services to clients.

Who are we looking for?

  • 5-6years in a Compliance / Risk Management role in a Regulatory/Compliance/Risk area within the Central Bank, a regulated entity or consulting role;
  • A professional qualification could include the ACOI’s Professional Diploma in Compliance (LCOI);
  • A track record in, and passion for, professional services;
  • Strong leadership skills and a proven record in building a team with the capacity and capability to deliver;
  • Excellent delegation skills and proven ability to manage and develop junior members of the team;
  • Excellent business development and relationship management skills, whilst still maintaining the ability to take direction from Partners and clients;
  • Excellent organisational and planning capabilities; and
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Technical – a detailed knowledge of, and keen interest in, the Irish risk and regulatory landscape;

Initiative – ability to take the initiative, work with limited supervision (although, we will be there to support you);

Dynamism – desire to work in a fast-paced environment with a highly energetic and motivated team;

Flexibility – willingness to adapt to varying and changing client demands; and

Attitude – motivated, hardworking and evidence of having excelled at something in your personal life to date.

Our remuneration packages are designed to attract and retain the best people as part of our team. We offer salary levels which are commensurate to each candidate’s level of experience, competencies and role in the Firm

Location

All roles are currently capable of operating remotely in the current environment.  We are adopting a hybrid working model to provide a combination office and remote working facilities for our team.
