Our dedicated Banking Group, led by Diarmaid O’Keeffe, Partner, provides accounting, regulatory and advisory services and solutions to all areas of the banking model from statutory audit, internal audit, internal controls and governance reviews through to working with banking regulators.
Our highly experienced team has more than 20 years’ industry experience working with key stakeholders in Irish and international banks on large scale, complex engagements.
We have extensively advised banks and regulators regarding the State’s position in the banking/debt sector. In 2018, EisnerAmper was re-appointed by the Department of Finance to a panel to advise on financial matters such as the future disposal of the State’s banking sector investments and other ad hoc assignments that may arise from time to time.
Below are some examples of how we have helped our clients:
Engaged as part of the change management function to assist in the transition of stakeholder reporting to a central reporting team of an international bank. Our work included planning & development of tools to facilitate the transition; facilitation of feedback and input sessions with project team members on transition plans; analysis of headcount requirements to complete the weekly, monthly, quarterly reports forming part of the transition (including design and tailoring of bespoke model to assist with scenario analysis); analysis of workflows of transitioning work and completion of detailed workflow transition plan; and weekly reporting to key stakeholders including issue resolution.
Engaged to provide accounting and support services to the finance, corporate banking and retail banking departments of an international bank. Our professional staff participated in teams across the bank as part of supporting projects which included providing assistance with the project management of the bank’s IFRS 9 Loan Impairment implementation project and assisting with the preparation of vendor side due diligence files as part of the preparation and execution of the sale of a portfolio of loans (>€100m).
EisnerAmper Ireland is a member of 4 panels for the provision of professional services to the Central Bank of Ireland. Under these panels, we have assisted the Central Bank in developing and executing plans relating to the restructure of the credit union sector: from investigation; strategy and policy development and oversight; to due diligence and M&A execution. Additionally, we have designed and delivered Financial & Regulatory Training programmes to Central Bank management and staff.
