Pat Cloran

Pat is a Partner in the Firm and the Head of EisnerAmper Ireland’s Risk & Quality function. As the Firm operates in complex and highly regulated markets, Pat is charged with ensuring that associated risks are addressed and managed in an appropriate manner coupled with a focus throughout the Firm on delivering an exceptional quality of client service. 

Pat’s role includes maintaining a centre of excellence for audit and financial reporting technical knowledge, addressing technical training needs and managing the Firm’s compliance requirements. Pat also supports engagement teams on the delivery of client services, providing advice on areas such as operational risk and ESG. In carrying out this role, Pat leverages his extensive experience of building collaborative working relationships with clients, firms and regulators both locally and internationally. 

Pat is a member of the Technical Advisory Panel of the Irish Auditing and Accounting Supervisory Authority (IAASA). The purpose of the panel is to advise IAASA at various stages of the development process of the Irish Auditing Framework. 

Education and Work Experience 

Pat is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI) and holds a first class honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting & Finance and a first class honours Masters of Business Studies degree in Accounting from Dublin City University.  More recently, Pat graduated with a first class honours Diploma in Leadership from the Irish Management Institute. 

Prior to joining EisnerAmper Ireland, Pat was Head of Quality Assurance in the Professional Standards Department of CAI for five years.  In addressing the strategic objective of ensuring that Chartered Accountants provide services of the highest quality, competently, honestly and with integrity, Pat led a team of inspectors that carried out monitoring visits to member firms. 

Prior to working with CAI, Pat spent 14 years in practice with PwC in Dublin and Sydney, providing audit and regulatory assurance services to the firms’ financial services’ clients, including banks, insurance companies, stockbrokers and property trusts.  Pat also worked on global PwC teams that produced audit methodology libraries for banking & capital markets audits and that carried out inspections of the professional work of firms in the PwC network.
