Congratulations to David Marmion, Dean Roche, Emanuela Zamboni, Stephen Reilly and Sarabeth McGuire on completing the Samsung Night Run Cork VS Dublin, which took place on Sunday, 27 April in Dublin city centre. The weeks of hard training paid off and four of the runners put in an impressive performance coming in sub-50 minutes and well under the average time of 55 minutes recorded for Dublin. Well done also to the newbie of the team, Sarabeth McGuire, who superbly managed to complete her first 10 km run!

Along with over 5,000 competitors in Dublin and over 1,000 in Cork, MKO’s (now EisnerAmper Ireland’s) team helped raise funds for local schools. The team is planning future events throughout the remainder of the year and is welcoming any new participants!

All Roads Lead To Rome

MKO (now EisnerAmper Ireland) was well represented at the Rome City Marathon with Alanna O’Doherty, Cormac Doyle, Karl Purcell and Emanuela Zamboni all successfully completing the challenging course!

It was a first time running a marathon for 3 of the team (Emanuela is a native Italian and a veteran of 3 previous marathons which everyone agreed gave her a distinct competitive advantage!). All of the team finished in relatively full health and in great times!  Cormac, the group’s elder statesman, led them home with Emanuela, Karl and Alanna finishing joint second. It was a great achievement for all the team given the challenging conditions on the day, old age (Cormac), injuries picked up in training (Alanna) and a lack of training or a decent pair of runners (Karl)!

More importantly, the team raised over €1,600 for their two chosen charities – Pieta House andSonas Housing – and they would like to thank everyone for their generous donations.

Next on the agenda for the MKO (now EisnerAmper Ireland) elite athletics department is a crack at a sub 4 hour run in the Dublin City Marathon in October, and they are opening membership for any new participants!

Rong Jin, Hao Wang, Kun Liu and Emanuela Zamboni are facilitating lunch time “Intercambio” language sessions with staff members interested in practicing or learning Chinese, Italian and French.

An intercambio is a language exchange for two or more people who speak different languages and wish to practice each other’s language.  Intercambios are a great way to learn the fundamentals of a language.  They are for the spoken language only – no reading, writing or grammar.  In addition to improving language ability, these intercambios also provide insight regarding the cultural and language attributes and needs of MKO’s (now EisnerAmper Ireland’s) International Business clients.

Thanks to Rong, Hao, Kun and Emanuela for hosting these sessions.
