John A. Boehner, Speaker of the United States House of Representatives delivered the keynote address which highlighted the remarkable business relationship between Ireland and the United States. Mr Speaker noted that Ireland is the number one location in the world for US FDI flows and US companies have $240bn in foreign direct investment (FDI) in Ireland.
The event brought together guests and speakers including Kevin O’Malley, US Ambassador to Ireland; Eamonn Sinnott, President of the American Chamber; and Dr. Anita M. Sands, global technology and business leader and advocate for the advancement of women, who discussed Irish economic growth rates, the value of exports by US companies in Ireland, and the over 80,000 people who work in Irish companies in the US.
