MKO (now EisnerAmper Ireland) participates in the France Ireland Chamber of Commerce SME & Entrepreneurs’ Network

Members of MKO’s (now EisnerAmper Ireland’s) International Business Team are active participants in the SME & Entrepreneurs’ Network forum organised by the France Ireland Chamber of Commerce (FICC).

The initiative involves events throughout the year, and includes speakers from trade associations such as UbiFrance and Enterprise Ireland. The initiative also hosts a trade forum to allow members to showcase their products and services.

The meetings (attended by entrepreneurs and senior management personnel of IFCC member companies) highlight opportunities to build business between French and Irish companies.

ConnectIreland – Reception celebrating 1,000 jobs

Members of MKO’s (now EisnerAmper Ireland’s) International Business team attended Connect Ireland’s milestone job creation announcement, celebrating 1,000 job commitments under the Connect Ireland programme.

Speakers at the event included Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD, and Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD.

ConnectIreland has been appointed to deliver the Irish Government’s Succeed in Ireland initiative, in association with IDA Ireland, and has helped to bring 36 companies to Ireland which plan to create 1,000 sustainable jobs over the next 3 to 5 years.

Ireland France Business Awards 2014

Roisin Cahill, Assistant Manager, and Orla Brennan, Supervisor, both members of MKO’s (now EisnerAmper Ireland’s) International Business team, attended the Ireland France Business Awards 2014 and Gala Dinner on Thursday, 27 November at The Royal Hospital, Kilmainham. The annual event is organised by the France Ireland Chamber of Commerce and NetworkIrelande.
Guests were joined on the night by An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny TD (pictured below with Roisin Cahill), H.E. Jean-Pierre Thébault (Ambassador of France to Ireland), H.E. Geraldine Byrne Nason (Ambassador of Ireland to France) and Matthias Fekl, the French Minister of State for Foreign Trade.

CEO Forum 2014

Frank Keane, Partner and Head of International Business at MKO (now EisnerAmper Ireland), will attend the 26th CEO Forum, an event organised by Enterprise Ireland. This year’s event will be held on Wednesday, 26 November at the Printworks Conference Centre, Dublin Castle.

The theme for the 2014 Forum is ‘Internationalisation – Rising to the challenges’ and attendees will have the opportunity to hear and share views on the challenges and successes facing today’s CEOs. Panellists and keynote speakers, including Mark Little, Broadcaster, Author and Social Media Entrepreneur, Anne Heraty, CEO, Cpl Resources plc., Michael O’Leary, CEO, Ryanair, will explore areas including ‘Excellence Through People’ and ‘Developing & growing an international business’.

American Chamber FDI Women in Business Network

Jennifer KellyRoisin Cahill and Sarabeth McGuire, members of MKO’s (now EisnerAmper Ireland’s) International Business team, were delighted to join the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland at their inaugural FDI Women in Business Network event. The event focused on the theme of “Current Leaders Influencing Future Leaders”, and was hosted by Vodafone Ireland on Friday, 7 November 2014.

The panel, comprising four exceptional current business leaders (Louise Phelan, American Chamber of Commerce President & PayPal Vice President of Global Operations, EMEA; Anne O’Leary, Vodafone, Chief Executive Officer; Aisling Hassell, Airbnb, Head of EMEA CX; and Julie O’Neill, Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Senior Vice President & General Manager) shared stories of the opportunities & challenges they faced to become the leaders they are today.

Web Summit 2014

Senior members of MKO (now EisnerAmper Ireland) and EisnerApmer LLP’s Financial Services teams attended the GAIMOps Ireland conference in Powerscourt from 8 – 10 October, 2014.  GAIMOps is Europe’s preeminent Hedge Fund event for Compliance level operations, Risk Compliance and Due Diligence Executives to share best practices. The conference presented opportunities for hedge fund executives and industry experts to cement formidable business partnerships, engage in valuable and strategic networking and share what’s top of mind with peers.

Ronan Murphy, Partner Designate from MKO (now EisnerAmper Ireland) and Nick Tsafos, Partner at EisnerAmper LLP, attended seminars on topics including:

Irish Funds Industry Association Seminar – San Francisco

Senior members of MKO’s (now EisnerAmper Ireland’s) Financial Services team travelled to San Francisco on 8th October, 2014 to attend seminars hosted by The Irish Funds Industry Association highlighting Ireland as fund domicile of choice for investment funds.

Diarmaid O’Keeffe, Partner and Head of Financial Services, and Ray Kelly, Partner Designate, Financial Services, attended seminars on topics including:

  • Why Ireland for investment products which included detail on the flexibility of fund structures and success of Irish Funds industry to date.
  • Ireland’s solutions for US Managers with alternative products under the AIFM Directive.
  • Opportunities presented to US Managers from the introduction of the new Irish Collective Asset-management Vehicle (ICAV) and Ireland’s proposals to allow Loan Origination within Irish domiciled funds.

These seminars also included panel discussions comprising experts from the Irish and European funds industry.

Chartered Accountants Ireland – Credit Union Forum

Diarmaid O’Keeffe (Head of Financial Services at MKO (now EisnerAmper Ireland)) and Dean Roche (Senior Manager, Financial Services at MKO (now EisnerAmper Ireland)) were guest speakers at Chartered Accountants Ireland Credit Union Forum. The forum was aimed at auditors of credit unions and took place on Friday, 26 September, in Chartered Accountants House, Dublin.  Diarmaid and Dean addressed an audience comprising credit unions representatives and auditors.  Their presentation “Audit of Credit Unions – Risks for consideration in planning your audit” covered the following topics:

  • Legal & regulatory framework and risk factors;
  • Business model – risks for consideration in planning your audit;
  • External audit file reviews – recurring themes; and
  • Using the work of internal auditors.

The forum allowed attendees to ask questions, gain insights and discuss matters relating to the risks to be considered when planning an audit of a credit union.

Funds Audit Secondment Programme

Patrick Thornton, a member of EisnerAmper LLP Financial Services Team, is currently in Dublin to partake in a 3 month Funds Audit Secondment Programme with MKO (now EisnerAmper Ireland). Patrick will be working with EisnerAmper’s Financial Services team providing audit, accounting, advisory and forensic accounting services to the Firm’s International and Irish clients. Patrick will work with a portfolio of clients including securitisation companies, treasury companies, section 110 companies, aircraft leasing companies, regulatory authorities, and financial services companies.
