EisnerAmper Ireland attends “Making your Mark” conference
On Thursday 3 November, Clodagh Byrne, from EisnerAmper Ireland’s International Business Team, and Heather Foley, from EisnerAmper Ireland’s Financial Services Team, attended the annual Chartered Accountants Ireland Student Society conference “Making your Mark” in Chartered Accountants House. Speakers included representatives of Professional Services and Financial Services Firms and addressed an audience of over 80 trainees, focusing on the prospects of progression as chartered accountants, and maintaining a work life balance. The key speaker of the night was Niall Harbison, the founder of the Lovin Group, who shared his journey in creating the Group and his goals towards becoming a global brand. Latest News →Ireland Canada Business Association 2016 Business Summit
On Thursday 27 October, Frank Keane, Head of International Business, attended the Ireland Canada Business Association (ICBA) 2016 Business Summit at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in St. Stephens Green, Dublin with Juron Kinnear, VP Corporate and Legal Affairs at Yroo. Yroo, a Canadian born search engine for shoppers, is expanding its Dublin office in order to build out global operations and is set to create 33 jobs in Ireland over the next three years.
The summit, “Celebrating and Strengthening the Business Links between Ireland & Canada” had four sessions over the course of the day consisting of panel discussions which focused on various aspects of deepening connections and improving trade and investment between Canada and Ireland. As part of the final panel discussion of the day “Investing in Ireland: The Canadian experience”, Juron, shared his experience of working with EisnerAmper Ireland to establish the business in Europe using Ireland as a base.

The Chartered Accountants Ireland FAE 2016 results were released today, Friday 28 October, and EisnerAmper Ireland students have exceeded the national performance with an 87.5% overall pass rate and a 100% pass rate in the Core exam. This result is proof, not only of the extensive hard work our trainees put into achieving their qualification, but also of the dedication that EisnerAmper Ireland put into supporting, coaching and training all staff members.
This coaching and training is unrivaled and includes c.30 bespoke training sessions, monthly learning afternoons and twice yearly off site residential training programmes. We value education, not just qualifications. Members of our team lecture on FAE and CAP 2 programmes, act as External Examiners, correct mock papers, sit on education boards and write accounting books, giving our trainees access to some of the leading professionals in the industry.

Frank Keane, Head of International Business and Jennifer Kelly, International Business Director, travelled to Florence on Friday 21 October to attend the Premier International Associates Conference.
EisnerAmper Ireland is a member of Premier International Associates, a global network of accounting, tax, legal and business consulting firms. The bi-annual conference presents members with the opportunity to build relationships with member firms and to gain in-depth insights into technical updates through attending the presentations, Q&A sessions, group discussions and workshops offered by members. On Thursday 27 October 2016, EisnerAmper Ireland staff enjoyed an afternoon of team sport in Stepaside. The afternoon began with staff members taking part in the inaugural EisnerAmper Ireland Pitch & Putt tournament in Jamestown Pitch & Putt club, Stepaside. A great afternoon of fun was had by all, with everyone trying their best to get a hole in one! The afternoon was followed by dinner in the Wild Goose Grill, Ranelagh. The presentation ceremony took place after dinner and the winning team, made up of Aidan Lundy, Joseph Halligan, Hao Wang and Anna Curley, was presented with well-deserved trophies and vouchers. Staff members Nadia Farrelly and Shauna Devaney were also awarded “Most improved player”.

Anna Curley, Senior in our Tax team, climbed Kilimanjaro in October to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society. The Irish Cancer Society has provided a huge amount of support to Anna and her family during Anna’s sister’s illness and Anna undertook this challenge to make her contribution so that other families can benefit from these services. Anna reached the summit of Kilimanjaro on 10 October 2016, after a tough 5 days climb. In total, Anna managed to raise over €2500, that were entirely donated to the Irish Cancer Society.

N.U.I.G. and U.L. Graduate Fairs
EisnerAmper Ireland’s recruitment team attended the National University of Ireland Galway and the University of Limerick graduate fairs this week. Both events were attended by over 1,000 students and more than 60 companies from various industries in Ireland. The next recruitment fair will take place in Dublin Institute of Technology on Wednesday 12 October.

Cormac Doyle, Tax Partner, visited Tel Aviv last week as part of an Irish delegation who attended the DLD Tel Aviv Conference (http://dldtelaviv.com/). Cormac joined others from the IDA, Bank of Ireland, Philip Lee solicitors, Stelfox, and EisnerAmper LLP on the trip. The trip was an opportunity to meet with companies and their advisors in Israel and to promote the benefits of Ireland as a Gateway to Europe.

On Thursday 29 September, Lisa Halpin, EisnerAmper Ireland’s Talent Management Executive, Barry Horan, Semi-Senior in EisnerAmper Ireland’s International Business team, and Jeff Landers, Semi-Senior in EisnerAmper Ireland’s Advisory team, represented the Firm at the UCD Business, Finance and Management Careers Fair in O’Reilly Hall, UCD. The event was attended by 55 other companies and over 1,200 undergraduate students. EisnerAmper Ireland’s recruitment team will be attending the NUI Galway and University of Limerick graduate fairs in early October.

On Thursday, 22 September 2016, 6 of EisnerAmper Ireland’s Financial Services team took part in the “Intertrust Ireland Bowling Battle 2016”. The event, which took place in Stillorgan Leisureplex, was hosted by Intertrust Ireland to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish foundation, who’s aim is to grant the wishes of children aged between 3 and 17 years living with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
18 teams took part in the Bowling Battle with the team from EisnerAmper Ireland being crowned the winners with an overall score of 1,320. The “BowlerAmpers”, made up of David Gaule, David Carroll, Cian Collins, Teresa Gallagher, Aidan Lundy, and led by Partner Ronan Murphy, were presented with the first prize gift voucher for FX Buckley. The event was very well attended with lots of great prizes given out on the night also. Well done to Intertrust Ireland for arranging a very enjoyable event for a great cause.
